Aussie icon to rock Barwon Heads Hotel
Australian music legend Peter Garrett will be bringing his best to the Bellarine in March next year.
The iconic Midnight Oil frontman will be rocking the Barwon Heads Hotel on March 7 with his band The Alter Egos.
Garrett will be playing songs from his new solo album True North as well as classic Midnight Oil tunes including Power and the Passion, Beds are Burning, Only the Strong, Blue Sky Mine and many more.
Released in March this year, True North is a deeply personal reflection on his singular journey, drawing inspiration and sustenance from the living colours of Australia’s natural environment and the sights and sounds of modern Oz
The album debuted at number one on the ARIA Australian Artists Album Chart.
Off the stage, the former politician continues to an activist and long-time campaigner for improving the lives of Indigenous Australians, ending the climate crisis and the AUKUS agreement.
Barwon Heads Hotel venue entertainment manager Luke Hindson said securing Pete and his band was a huge coup.
“We grew hearing legendary stories about Midnight Oil playing the Ocean Grove Boat Shed.
“This is a rare chance for our community to see Peter Garrett back in a unique pub environment, and a nod to those early days.
“We are very proud that the Barwon Heads Pub is back up and running live shows and we are looking forward to creating memories for years to come.”
