Members will be showcasing many techniques including, embroidery, hand stitching, thread-painting, and applique.
The Bellarine Quilters are an active community group of around 40 like-minded members who share a common interest of all things patchwork and craft. They meet once a week at the Drysdale Community Hub and are a talented group made up of various ages and experience, sharing their stories, laughter and knowledge and collectively have a passion to create, whether it be in quilting or craft.
The group are heavily involved in the community and in the past 18 months have made over 220 quilts which have been donated to various organisations. These quilts are made with love and given to those in need which they can call their very own.
The group make quilts for all ages from infants and teenagers through to adults, gifting them to local support groups including MELI, Kinship Carers, Orange Door and Southern Cross Kids Camps all who work tirelessly to help those experiencing financial stress, physical abuse and mental health issues.
At the exhibition visitors can also browse the members trading table. Where there will be lots of goodies for sale including gifts, quilts, bags, table runners and knitted items. The Quilt Shop from Eltham will be there with a pop-up stall for fabric and quilting supplies.
Devonshire Tea will be available for light refreshments on both days.
There will be a great raffle with two quilts as the first and second prize and a Melbourne Map Jigsaw puzzle as the third prize. All funds raised from this raffle will be donated back to the local community. Tickets are only $2.00.
The Bellarine Quilters look forward to seeing everyone at the exhibition, to explore the beautiful Bellarine region and support local businesses.
