Capturing the Gemaxis experience

After completing her apprenticeship almost 25 years ago, Amanda O’Neill was fortunate enough to work with some of the best manufacturing jewellers in Australia and overseas.

Throughout her career she’s always strived for excellence. Jewellery is very personable and can be emotional for many of their customers, therefor O’Neill likes to harness and capture the Gemaxis experience to its full potential.

She’s always had a passion to create her own style of Jewellery and overwhelm her own customers with the result. Creating Jewellery runs through her veins and the dream of one day starting her own jewellery brand came to reality in 2016 when Gemaxis Jewellery was born. The name Gemaxis came to life, because of her passion for gemstones as they travel through her universe.

Just before starting Gemaxis, O’Neill completed her Gemmology degree (the in-depth scientific study of gemstones) to ensure she only works with the highest quality gems available. By being a master jeweller and jewellery designer, she’s able to make people’s jewellery dreams come to life.

Gemaxis Jewellery Ocean Grove is a positive, passioned and foremost a sustainable manufacturing jewellery brand. Most of the designs are based on what mother-nature provides every day and O’Neill wants to be part of preserving the unrivalled beauty and serenity. Gemaxis respects the industry they are part of and recognises the changes they can make to create a sustainable path for the future.

Gemaxis Jewellery also recognises the importance of the community they live and operate in and the micro-challenges this can face. Where possible, Gemaxis will strive to play a pivotal role in bettering themselves, others and the environment. Supporting local businesses and initiatives is what is at the forefront of breaking the chain and creating a positive change.

Fortunate and grateful to live in Ocean Grove, most of the inspiration for O’Neill’s jewellery designs stem from the colours and curves of the ocean, the sweeping skies by sunsets or luscious rain forest near the Otways. Gemaxis Jewellery Ocean Grove is where her heart is and so is every piece she designs and creates for her customers.
