ALMOST 40 years ago Australian Crawl called it quits — but it’s not the final call for the Australian rock outfit’s music.

Four decades on, founding member James Reyne is bringing the band’s greatest hits back to life with The Fall of Crawl tour.

The lead vocalist will make his way around Australia with the commemorative tour, visiting locations and venues across the country.

People heading along can expect to hear the songs they know and love, while celebrating the past.

Reyne was a member of the Australian band for seven years, releasing four studio albums as a group before going their separate ways in 1986.

Comprised of Reyne, Simon Binks (lead guitar), Paul Williams (bass), Brad Robinson (rhythm guitar) and David Reyne (drums), Australian Crawl was first formed in 1978.

The group’s debut album The Boys Light Up was featured in The 100 Best Australian Albums, 30 years after it was released.

When first released, the album stayed in the charts for two years, peaked at number four and went platinum four times, cementing it as a favourite among listeners.

The Australian musician has now been a solo artist for more than 30 years, with his most recent studio album Toon Toon Lullaby released in 2020.

Throughout his career, Reynes has had 19 Top 40 singles, with his songs covered by the likes of Paul Kelly, John Farnham, Mick Thomas and Angie Hart.

Reyne will perform at the Bellarine Estate on March 8.
