Free Easter egg hunts will take place over the Easter weekend on the Chocolaterie grounds.

The Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie is the epicentre of Easter this year with a selection of over 10,000 handcrafted eggs currently prepared for planned hunts.

The free Easter egg hunts will take place over the Easter weekend and are sure to delight the droves of children anticipated to take part on the Chocolaterie grounds.

The Chocolaterie have also created Victoria’s largest collection of hand crafted couverture chocolates especially for Easter, with their Bellbrae showroom boasting over 30,000 creations made from Belgian couverture milk, dark and white chocolate, and local ingredients.

The massive Easter collection combines decorated eggs, decadent truffles, a special children’s range, and an array of whimsical characters to delight chocolate lovers of all ages.

Traditionalists can expect chocolate eggs with a creative twist – from elegantly simple to hand decorated; indulgently infused, filled, flavoured and freckled eggs (look out for honeycomb, cookies & cream and salted caramel eggs).

There will also be eggs of all sizes, from the miniature to the totally decadent Dinosaur Egg which weighs in at over 2kg of fine Belgian chocolate!

Couverture eggs can also be personalised with the name of the recipient, with a while you watch service to create beautiful Easter gifts for loved ones.

Easter fans will enjoy delightful chocolate characters including chicks, hens, pigs, turtles – and of course bunnies. The Chocolaterie’s very own surfing bunny is a signature creation – there’s even a giant 66cm Easter Mega Bunny and a host of collectible tins and novel gift packs choc filled with limited edition Easter delights.

There is also a range of creative gift ideas – look out for the make your own Easter Brownie gifts and Easter Activity Carry Cases complete with chocolate inspired games.

Truffle connoisseurs should head straight for the Hot Cross Bun flavoured truffle – with spicy hints of cinnamon and raisin, while dessert lovers will find the Chocolateries Pastry Chefs are also in an Easter mood, adding Easter touches to tarts, tortes, gateaux’s and more, to serve in the all-day Café in the lead up to the special holiday.

Little ones on the free egg hunts will be hosted and helped along by the Chocolaterie’s own Easter Bunnies.

They can search for tokens amongst the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie’s landscaped grounds and orchard to redeem a delicious handcrafted egg.

Hunts take place at 10am, noon and 2pm on Good Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the Easter holiday with no bookings needed.

Owner Leanne Neeland said their chocolatiers had been busy preparing the huge Easter collection consisting of 30,000 chocolates.

“We love this time of year – it’s a wonderful chance to share our creative chocolate making with chocolate lovers young and old and extend loads of free family fun to our visitors,” she said.
