Coral brings colour to art show
During the Arts Trail over the Melbourne Cup weekend, the Ocean Grove Rotary Club will hold its seventh annual Art Show at the Point Lonsdale Primary School Function Centre.
Art show curator Coral Barker said the show has attracted 41 top local and state-wide artists.
“We have three categories, painting, drawing and print making and of course the People’s Choice Award with prizes in excess of $9,000 on offer.
Join the artists, judges and members of Ocean Grove Rotary Club to enjoy a glass of wine from 7pm on November 3 before the weekend’s activities.
Jill Shallese is a well-known artist who teaches art in Geelong. A multi-award winner, Jill started painting as a teenager and was the overall winner of the art show in 2011 and received the prize for best drawing in 2014.
“I’m impressed with the professional way Rotary Ocean Grove runs their Art Show, the standard of work is much higher and I like the fact that all proceeds go to two excellent local charities. I enjoy being part of it,” Jill said
Arts Trail participants are encouraged to visit the Art Show at the Point Lonsdale Primary School Function Centre, Bowen Road, Point Lonsdale, from 10am-5pm.
