Dances still going strong at hall

ALMOST 70 people attended a Sunday afternoon dance at the Leopold Hall earlier this month as part of Seniors Month.

Patrons attending danced the afternoon away while they enjoyed music supplied by a four-piece band.

Attendee Jean mentioned that her parents would take her to the dances (in the same hall) in a basinet and place her behind the piano for the evening.

Everyone seated in the front row of the photo mentioned they attended dances at the hall before they reached the age of 10 and some were still attending.

After all these years, Old Time Ballroom Dancing is still being held on a weekly basis at the hall and the music is alternated between two keyboard players and a five piece band.
