A new exhibition at The Surf Coast Art Space – From the Deep – will feature works by 10 local artists and bring the depths of the ocean to life (including this seaweed pendant light by Martine Oderio) from April 13-30.

AN EXCITING new exhibition featuring 10 local artists will bring inspiration from the ocean to Anglesea.

The Surf Coast Art Space will host the exhibition From the Deep with Surf Coast mayor David Bell to launch the works at the official opening on Friday April 13.

An array of media have been used by the artists including kelp, seagrass, recycled paper, photography, hyper-realistic drawing, reclaimed driftwood and metal to capture the beauty of the ocean’s depths.

Showing artists will also demonstrate their crafts at the gallery during scheduled times throughout the exhibition.

Exhibiting artists Janet Miller, Catherine Brennan, Kelli Lloyd, Martine Oderio, Bruce Kirby and Brendan Merriman join Caroline Merriman, Rebecca Hosking, Caroline Hawkins and Colleen Miller to share their creations.

The opening night will run from 6pm-8pm and is open to the public, with gallery visiting hours between 10am until 4pm every day from April 13 to 30.

Artist Janet Miller said all those involved in From the Deep supported environmental awareness and the future of the oceans with a percentage of all sales to be donated to the Boomerang Alliance.

The gallery Art Space is located at shop 2/103 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea.
