ARJ BARKER will be taking audiences straight into his comic mind in Geelong next month.

The American comedian will be bringing his newest tour The Mind Field to The Play House at Geelong Arts Centre on August 16 as he sets out to answer some of the life’s biggest questions.

He says the show will make you laugh and learn, but you’ll never look at anything the same once you enter The Mind Field.

Barker has been on the comedy circuit since the early 1990s, first gigging in small cafes in California.

He first appeared at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2000 and presently resides in the city.

Barker played a major role in the HBO sitcom Flight of the Conchords as Dave and has been successful in Australia as a comedian for several years.

He won Best Comedy Release for Organic at the 2019 ARIA Music Awards and was also nominated for awards in 2010, 2012, and 2017.

Barker has won the coveted Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Film Festival and has performed regularly acrosss Australia and New Zealand.

He has also toured in Holland, Sweden, Norway, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, South Africa, Singapore and Malaysia.

The comedian has made several appearances on late night television talk shows such as Lettermanand Conan O’Brien and is a favourite on Australian shows such as Thank God You’re Here, Rove, Spicks and Specks and Have You Been Paying Attention?

A favourite of both the Australian and American comedy scenes, Barker is sure to bring the laughs to Geelong in a fun and engaging way.

The show will be 90 minutes in duration and is strictly for audiences aged 15 and older.
