SATURDAY 11/11

Remembrance Day

In 2017, November 11 marks the 99th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. Flags should be lowered to half mast at 10am and then returned to standard height at 11.02am. To find commemorative ceremonies in your area, head to rslvic.com.au/media/324037/Sub-Branch-Remembrance-Day-Activities.pdf.
