Christmas time in the Quay

Christmastime in the Quay is being held again with beautifully decorated houses and streets, 180 holiday street lamp banners and a decorated community Christmas tree.

Some Quay residents will have decorated their homes to enter into a competition as part of The Quay’s second annual not-for-profit charity fundraiser. The eight winners will be announced at The Quay’s Christmas Fun Events and Awards Night, receiving $250 each for their nominated charities.

There will also be plenty of fun activities for families to enjoy including driveway cinema movies, a jumping castle, photo booth, a special visit from Santa and his elves plus much more, located at Hilltop Pirate Park from 6-9pm.

SATURDAY 16/12

Carols by the sea

Torquay Carols by the Sea is an annual community event filled with fun, entertainment and Carol singing, hosted by the combined churches of Torquay. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic or enjoy dinner at the surrounding cafes and restaurants before the Carol fun begins.

Children’s entertainer Willow Star will also be providing entertainment throughout the event. Carols by the Sea is an event for all ages and a highlight on the Christmas calendar. Carols by the Sea will be held at The Elephant Walk, The Esplanade in Torquay on Saturday at 7.30pm, with pre-entertainment from 6.45pm.

SUNDAY 17/12

A blue kind of Christmas

Not everyone is happy during the festive season, and often when there has been a loss throughout the year it can be made even harder. If you don’t feel like celebrating Christmas, then the Anglesea Churches invite you to Blue Christmas. Blue Christmas is a service that seeks to acknowledge the pain of your grief and loss in a friendly and welcoming environment. Blue Christmas will be held at 5pm this Sunday December 17 at the Uniting Church, located on Murch Crescent in Anglesea.
