A wine-tastic start to the weekend

Every Friday throughout February, March and April you can enjoy a free tasting at Tastes of the Region in Queenscliff. Taste the best wine, beer and local produce from Geelong and the Bellarine. Tastes of the Region will offer tastes of Banks Road this Friday. Start your Fridays like you should, with a local wine in hand. Situated on the Bellarine Peninsula, Queenscliff Brewhouse is home to over 300 craft beers and ciders, rotating guest taps and hundreds of bottled beers from around the globe. Free tasting will run from 5pm-6pm, located at 2 Gellibrand Street, Queenscliff.

Films, food and fun

For the first time ever, the Peninsula Film Festival will screen in Queenscliff this Saturday from 5pm with film screenings from 7pm. The Festival, a showcase for independent Australian and international filmmakers, will be staged in the Queenscliff Town Hall at 50 Learmonth Street. Entry to the event is free and is also alcohol free. A number of local businesses have partnered with Festival organisers to offer dining and accommodation deals for guests. New life for old bottles

drysdale will ring to the clink of bottles at the third annual free Historic Bottle Evaluation this Sunday from 10am to 3.30pm at the drysdale Courthouse. The Bellarine Historical Society and ABCR Auctions are running the event as part of the 2018 Festival of Glass. Experienced valuers Paul and david Bruce, assisted by leading Geelong collector Cam Ward, will appraise and value bottles and expect to see around 75 hopeful locals.
