Sizzle on Australia Day

Happy Australia Day from the Times Living team! There are many activities on offer across the Surf Coast and Bellarine for the whole family to enjoy this public holiday. The Anglesea barbecue breakfast starts at 8am at the Anglesea Riverbank featuring Australia Day ambassador Dave Jacka OAM, face painting and entertainment by Billy Tea Bush Band. The Torquay Australia Day barbecue will start at 10am at Taylor Park Rotunda featuring Australia Day Ambassador Diane James AM, face painting and entertainment by young Surf Coast musician Momoko Rose. The Borough of Queenscliffe will also hold celebrations at the Queenscliff Town Hall from 11am, featuring Australia Day Ambassador Ian Coutts, entertainment and activities.

A book fair for a king

The 2018 Torquay Rotary Book Fair will run from Friday to Sunday 10am- 4pm daily. All books are prices at $1, whether they’re pre-loved or kindly donated by local business, charities and groups. Held at the Torquay Scout Hall behind the Torquay Football grounds, attendees can search rows upon rows of books, with Rotary members on hand to have a chat and help you find your next good read. Just keep swimming

The second Ocean Grove Open Water Swim is a combination of great swims in the crystal clear blue waters of Ocean Grove, with live music, food and coffee vendors and a fun time for swimmers and their families. Prizes will be allocated to the Open Category in the 1.2-kilometre and 2.5-kilometre swims. Events include 400-metre Optus Nipper Swim (for 9-13 year olds), 400-metre Optus Junior Novice Swim (for 14- to 17-year-olds), 400-metre Optus Adult Novice Swim (for ages 18 and older), 1.2-kilometre Classic Swim (for 12-year-olds and over), and 2.5 kilometre Enduro Swim (for 12-year-olds and over).
