Finnigan August discusses debut record
CH: Can you tell me where you tracked your record?
FA: At Tommy’s (Tommy Castles) place in Williamstown (Lotus Studio’s).
CH: How many tracks did you record, and are they original works?
FA: Eight tracks, three originals and five covers by Dick Dale, Xavier Rudd, John Butler and some others.
CH: Is there any artists that you wanted your original music to sound like?
FA: I don’t want to sound like anyone.
CH: Are you able to share with readers what the name of your record is?
FA: It’s just going to be Finnigan August, self-titled.
CH: Is there any extra special songs on your record?
FA: “Wilson”, because it’s dedicated to Chris Wilson. We finished it off together, he’s heard it before.
CH: Did you enjoy recording? Was it fun or was it boring?
FA: It’s boring when Chris takes 50 takes (laughs).
CH: Just in case anyone wants to hear those polished takes, where can they get the record?
FA: From me at Swell café in Juc when I’m busking.
CH: Which instruments did you use?
FA: My Tim Kill Custom, and my banjo.
CH: Who did your cover artwork?
FA: Aaron Godina from Salty Vibes did the front cover, and Fluid are putting all of the design stuff together.
