First winter market for Aireys

July 3, 2019 BY

The Aireys Inlet Hall will be filled with homegrown produce and handmade crafts at the inaugural winter market on Sunday July 7.

Aireys Inlet is gearing up to host its first winter market for 2019 on Sunday July 7, providing a welcome outing for locals and Surf Coast visitors during the school holidays.

Every corner of the community market will be filled with goodness from local producers, artists, and creators as they showcase a curated selection of the region’s finest arts, crafts and fare.

Market organiser Libby Stapleton said due to the market’s increasing popularity, she was approached by Surf Coast Shire Council to run the new winter market in the small town of Aireys.

“We’re happy to offer an extra market during the cooler winter months, as long as it is supported by stallholders, visitors and locals,” Ms Stapleton said.

“It’s exciting to host the inaugural Aireys Inlet winter market for our town. Fingers crossed for more beautiful winter sunshine.

“Winter is a great time for markets. People can pick up beautiful handspun wool or knitted jumpers and scarves. Grab a gorgeous crocheted tea cosy to keep your cuppa warm or choose a scented candle to create a snug mood at home.”

Each market stall offers authentic homegrown, homemade, recycled, vintage and local items, from farm produce and tasty treats to bespoke wooden crafts, original artwork, ecofriendly homewares, jewellery, handmade clothing, baby gear, ceramics, wildlife books, handmade journals and more.

The inaugural Aireys winter market will run from 9am to 1pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall (6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet) on Sunday July 7.
