Fleetwood Mac lovers say “THANK YOU, GYPSY”
A Melbourne-based group of musicians with a love for the legendary Fleetwood Mac will be heading to Queenscliff’s 360Q on April 27.
When news broke of the band’s coming tour around Australia, tribute act Gypsy – which is led by Stevie Nicks lookalike Peta Balcombe – couldn’t refuse the opportunity to follow suit.
Performing in front of diehard Fleetwood Mac fans for over a decade across countless sold-out tribute shows, the group plays many of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits.
“Many of the Mac fans that come along to our show have commented that we sound as good as the original Mac – that’s quite a compliment,” says Peta.
“We are honoured to be paying tribute to this legendary band and are humbled by such positive feedback.
“The music of Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac resonates to so many people I am very proud of the fine musicians that make up Gypsy 2019.”
Gypsy members Nina Finn (keyboard and vocals), Des Anthonisz (vocals and guitar), Michael Balcombe (lead guitar), Laurie Sprague (bass guitar) and Michael Finn (drums) each boast a demonstrated history in performing to large crowds.
The six-piece band will perform at least 30 classic songs including “Dreams”, “Rhiannon”, “Don’t Stop”, “Everywhere” and “Go Your Own Way”.
“It will be a wonderful opportunity for anyone to come along and enjoy our tribute to one of the world’s legendary bands,” the group said.
Tickets are $100 per person and include a two-course dinner as well as beer and wine.
