Summer rolls on for Ocean Alley
AUSTRALIAN rockers Ocean Alley are rolling into Torquay next month to headline SummerSalt for the first time.
The surf-loving six piece will be taking over the Torquay Common as part of SummerSalt on March 8.
With more than 1 billion streams worldwide and a reputation for magnetic live performances, Ocean Alley are undoubtedly one of Australia’s hottest musical exports – continuing to expand their reach, evolve their sound and captivate audiences around the globe.
The band first experienced commercial success with 2018 Confidence. Since landing at number one on the triple j Hottest 100, the track has gone on to achieve six-time platinum certification, surpassing 200 million streams on Spotify and more than 12 million views on YouTube.

The track also hit the US Billboard Singles Charts, entered New Zealand’s Top 40 singles and the UK’s independent single breakers charts.
Other tracks it hit international stardom include Holiday, Tombstone, Way Down and 2024 beauty Tangerine.
After a few years of solid hits, the band enjoyed a landmark 2025, with a headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace, North and South American tours and major festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Sziget and Austin City Limits.
Recent album Love Balloon continues to dominate the charts, debuting at number three on the ARIA Album Chart and number one on the ARIA Vinyl and Australian Album Charts.
The band has just released a sun-soaked video for First Blush, which is holding strong as the most played song on triple j.
Both First Blush, Love Balloon, and tracks Drenched and Left of the Dealer featured in the 2025 triple j Hottest 100.
Ocean Alley guitarist Mitch Galbraith said the would come into the Torquay show with plenty of confidence and good energy.

“We are very excited to be heading down to some of these towns out of the cities like Torquay.
“We’ve played at the Torquay Hotel quite a bit and have spent plenty of time surfing around Jan Juc. It’s so beautiful down there.”
He said a key to the band’s continued longevity and success was sticking together and embracing the moment.
“We’ve got magic to our band with who we are individually and how we operate as a band.
“We’ve got an amazing team around us and it’s a really good feeling for us to be working for the crew, rather than them just working for us.
“After every gig we come off stage and we are just so proud.”
Ocean Alley will be joined in Torquay by an all-star lineup including Skegss, Allah-Las, Babe Rainbow, The Grogans, Mid Drift, Le Shiv and Seaside. For tickets, head to summersaltmusic.com.au
