This year Miele celebrates 125 years and has been a family-owned company since its beginning in 1899.

Two families have shaped the company for more than 100 years: the Miele and Zinkann families.

In 1899, with four lathes and one drilling machine, engineer Carl Miele and businessman Reinhard Zinkann founded a company for the manufacture of cream separators in Herzebrock. Their guiding principle becomes the business philosophy: “Immer besser”.

They are also celebrating 125 years of Miele this year, forever better since 1899.

Philosophy Miele has been an independent family-owned company since its establishment in 1899 and is equally committed to its owners, employees, customers, suppliers, the environment and society.

The company focus is on manufacturing household appliances for the kitchen, the laundry room and for floorcare, as well as appliances for use in commercial operations and medical facilities (“Miele Professional”). The strategic vision is to become the overall favourite brand.

Miele offers products that set the standards for durability, performance, ease of use, energy efficiency, design and service. This corresponds to the guiding principle “Immer besser” which the founders Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann printed on their first machines – and which characterises Miele to this day.

The company focuses exclusively on the Miele brand and its consistent positioning in the premium segment. Miele stands for long-term thinking and planning, continuity of values and goals, good relationships with customers and suppliers, as well as an employee-oriented corporate and leadership culture.

Sustainability is entrenched in Miele’s values, with the company publishing a sustainability report every two years.

For Miele, sustainability is entrenched in the values and traditions of the company and is the absolute foundation for long-term corporate success. Miele is a member of the UN sustainability organisation Global Compact and signatory of the “Diversity Charter,” Miele publishes a sustainability report every two years.

Use of materials

Their range of appliances are designed to be repair-friendly and durable, with every product tested to the equivalent of 20 years of usage under average household use.

During the construction phase, Miele’s goal is to minimise the number of different raw materials and avoid the use of composite materials entirely, wherever possible. This ensures that clients are always receiving quality products where the majority of components can be easily recycled at the end of the useful product life.

 

Meile also ensure every product is designed to keep emissions such as noise, odours and moisture to a minimum during use.

Big promotions in September

Miele is doing a 10-year warranty promotion on selected kitchen and laundry appliances. This is massive as their standard warranty is only two years.
