Fundraising lunch supports life after stroke

October 31, 2017 BY

A THREE-course lunch at Terindah Estate Winery next week will raise funds for the Barwon Stroke Support Centre (BSSC).

In July 2016, the BSSC opened its doors and launched its much-needed programs for the wider community.

The centre is the first of its kind in Australia and its “Life after Stroke” Pathway delivers a range of support programs from the moment a survivor leaves clinical care, through to a meaningful engagement back into their community.

The Will 2 Walk event on Friday October 13 will see six stroke community members walk from the BSSC (22 Richmond Crescent in Geelong) to Terindah Estate Winery (90 McAdams Lane, Bellarine) – a total of 25 kilometres.

The lunch, which will follow the walk, will be a ticketed event and there will be an auction and raffle. Ambassador and Formula Ford race car driver Claire Davison-Greig has had in excess of $10,000 worth of auction items donated from local businesses, including; Bloomfield Bali, Porsche Driving Experience, Pamper Skincare, The Wellness Studio, Geelong Pilates Studio, The Skincare Company, Annies Provedore, Polar Watches, to name a few.

Geelong Football Club legend Doug Wade is also a Will 2 Walk ambassador.

Should anyone wish to attend the event, which starts at noon, ticket prices will be $150.

Tickets can be purchased at trybooking.com/book/event?embed&eid=311634 or by phoning Carly Stephens on 0422 290 903.
