HIVE abuzz with artistic visitors

November 22, 2017 BY

The Hive Ocean Grove has firmly established itself in the local artistic community.

The gallery has been open for over a year, and was a finalist in two categories in the Geelong Business Excellence Awards for 2017.

Now supporting 20 artists, the majority are all locals to the Bellarine and Greater Geelong, and the gallery prides itself on tapping into the creative talent to be found in the region.

The Bellarine Arts Trail will provide a wonderful, relaxed opportunity to meet some of these artists with Richard Weatherly, Bill Linford, Wayne Elliott, Margie Delahunty Spencer, and Georgie Gall all participating and producing new works for the trail.

Margie and Georgie are well known for their large abstract works; Wayne’s naïve art captures an aerial view of iconic Australian scenes and events.

Bill is a well-known local from Ocean Grove who has led many previous lives, but always loves to paint.

He will show new works inspired by his unique take on human observation, including jockeys, lifesavers and some works influenced by the Australian outback.

Richard Weatherly OAM, is a man of numerous talents and stories to tell. A well-regarded artist from his early 20s, Richard will have both original works and reproductions available.

Will Wilson of Willie Wildlife Sculptures, known internationally for his displays at Chelsea Flower Show will be present, along with Pam Wilson to discuss bronze casting and designs.

The Hive is located at 41 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove. For more information, visit, thehiveoceangrove.com.au.
