Insight into top cop job at charity dinner

Retired homicide detective Ron Iddles will join fellow guest speaker and mental health clinician Selba Gondoza Luka for a charity dinner at 360Q on April 27.

One of Victoria’s most decorated homicide detectives will share his on-the-job experiences during a unique charity dinner at 360Q in Queenscliff.Now retired, Ron Iddles worked on some of the country’s high-profile and often controversial cases including Jill Meagher and will join Selba Gondoza Luka, a mental health clinician, as the evening’s guest speakers.

Ms Luka is a family violence campaigner and founder of African migrant outreach program Afri-Aus Care.The evening on April 27 will raise valuable funds for the Afri-Aus Care program with $20 from every ticket directly donated alongside profits from hand signed copies of Ron Iddles’ biography The Good Cop. This charity and in-house conversation event will hear firsthand Ms Luka’s personal experience with family violence and abuse as a migrant to Australia and her reasoning behind why she founded Afri-Aus Care and the wonderful success stories that have come from her organisation.

The event hopes to assist in raising funds to provide support services to migrant youth from African and other culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and their families; those at risk of experiencing mental health issues, family and intergenerational conflict or are in the court system due to offences arising from these circumstances.Tickets are $120 and include a gourmet three-course menu by 360Q’s talented team of chefs, wine, beer and soft drinks as well as the presentations by our guest speakers.
