Australian musician Jessica Mauboy is bringing her fifth studio album Yours Forever to Geelong.

Mauboy will tour regional and metro cities across 23 dates, heading to Geelong’s Costa Hall on Friday, March 15.

Her latest album includes 10 new songs and was written and recorded in Australia, exploring themes of love, hope, heartbreak, and resilience.

Mauboy said Yours Forever was a nostalgic album, and when you strip it back it had a depth she had never gone to or shared before.

Yours Forever is me at my truest self, comfortable in my skin, not comparing myself or trying to be someone or something that anyone expects me to be.

“This album takes me back to the basics of who I was in the past, who I am in the present and who I will be in the future.”

The new album is the first she has released since 2019’s Hilda, which was a number one ARIA album.

Mauboy came second on Australian Idol in 2006 and is now one of the coaches on The Voice. She is also well known for her lead role in 2012 film The Sapphires.

“I’ll never forget being on Australian Idol and singing Whitney Houston standing in the red dirt of Mparntwe (Alice Springs) at my audition,” she said.

“It was my first taste of the music industry. It’s where it all started and why I am where I am today.”

Mauboy made history as the first non-European solo artist to represent the country at Eurovision in 2014, has toured with Beyonce, and performed for Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

Her other plaudits include four ARIA platinum selling albums, six top 10 albums, and number one records on the ARIA Singles and Album charts.
