Celebrate the winter holidays with Christmas in July at Little Creatures.

Winter is well and truly here, and what better way to celebrate than a cozy Christmas in July?

Pull out your ugliest woollen sweaters and brave the chilly air because this winter holidays, Little Creatures Geelong is hosting the mid-year celebration.

The event will fill the brewery with winter warming treats, spicy hot mulled apple cider, children’s entertainment and workshops, and all things Christmas.

According to Dave Wilson, operations manager at Little Creatures Brewery Geelong, everyone is welcome to come along to the night, with family-friendly fun for all – a core value at the Brewery.

“Community engagement is always front of mind in everything we do,” he said.

Christmas in July is the perfect way to people together during the colder months.

“It’s a great excuse to get out of the house this winter and enjoy Little Creatures hospitality,” Wilson said.

“A warm, fun, cheerful night of delicious food and beer pairings, featuring Little Creatures’ latest single batch release, Ancient Traveller – Ethiopian Black Barley Stout.”

The family-friendly fun will run throughout the school holidays, with kids arts and craft on Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon- 3pm and Kids entertainment on Sundays from 1-3pm.

Globetrotting folk songs

This Sunday, July 10 at 2.30pm, the Geelong Chorale presents Around the World in 80 Minutes, with a delightful collection of folk songs from all around the world. The night is sure to take you on an epic journey, filling the All Saints’ Church in Newtown with a treasury of folk songs from across land and sea.

Time to show up

The Show Up! exhibition is open at the Anglesea Art Space on Wednesdays to Sundays until July 17. The exhibition includes works from four talented First Nation artists – Gerard Black, Jenna Oldaker, BJ O’Toole, and Nathan Patterson – and will fill the Art Space with colour and history in honour of NAIDOC Week.

Cheers to abstract art

Brush & Bubbles in Geelong is hosting an evening Contemporary Abstract Art lesson tomorrow (Friday, July 8) for a creative night out. Beginners or proficient artists alike can come sip wines, beers, cocktails or bubbles while learning step by step how to create a worthy masterpiece. The night will end with colourful canvases, and newfound Picassos that might need a lift home.
