The new Belmont store front is the second for the Ket Baker business, bringing their offerings to the Geelong region. Ket Baker products are created with no additives, yeast or shortcuts, ensuring they give their dough enough time to ferment fully.

AFTER almost a decade of slow fermenting, early rising, and doing things the hard-but-right way, Ket Baker has opened the doors to a second location — this time, in Belmont.

The original bakery in Wallington earned a cult following for its uncompromising sourdough bread, five-day pastries, and a values-led approach that refuses to cut corners.

Now, those same handmade bakes are available to the wider Geelong community — from a new shopfront tucked just behind the bustle of High Street.

Located at 2/174A High Street, Belmont, the new store is open seven days a week and features the full Ket line-up: long-fermented loaves, flaky croissants, house-made fillings, and coffee that hits just right.

“This new shop isn’t about becoming bigger — it’s about becoming better,” Ket Baker founder Miek Paulus said.

“We needed to find more balance in our operations, and Belmont gives us the chance to connect with our community in a different rhythm — still deeply local, still deeply us.”

Every Ket product is made from the ground up — no additives, no yeast, no shortcuts. The team doesn’t rush, their doughs are given the time they need to ferment fully – unlocking complexity, digestibility and depth of flavour. Pastries take five days to make, not hours, because some things can’t be hacked.

“You don’t have to wreck your gut or sacrifice joy to eat well,” Paulus said.

In celebration of the Belmont store opening, Ket Baker is running a raffle with fresh pasties, T-shirts, keyrings and more up for grabs.

“Clean food can be delicious. You can have both — and that’s what we’re here to prove.”

To celebrate the launch, Ket is running a “Twice as Wild” raffle across both locations throughout June. Customers can enter by making a purchase in-store for the chance to win fresh pastries, Ket T-shirts, keyrings, and more.

With the ovens firing and both locations buzzing, Ket Baker is making it easier — and tastier — to eat with intention.
