Kids’ holiday crafts at Amitie

June 27, 2018 BY

Kids can get creative during these school holidays thanks to Amitie in Torquay. The craft classes available across July 3-13 run for two and a half hours and teach hand sewing techniques, decorative embroidery stitches, design concepts and craft tool handling.

Kids can be kept entertained these winter holidays regardless of the weather outside thanks to Amitie in Torquay, offering up an assortment of fun and creative craft classes.

Geared towards 8 to 14-year-olds, the tasks are designed so that children leave with a completed project to adorn their walls, gift to a friend or as a sweet decoration for their room.

Craft has proven to be a wonderful self-esteem builder for children where they learn new skills and explore their creative side during classes taking place over the July 3-13 period.

Following a step-by-step process, children individualise their work and make various decisions surrounding colour and scale; classes include dream catchers, cushion creatures, woodland animals or fabric word art.

With each choice, the projects take on the child’s own vision, and nothing is more elating for a child than proudly showing off their creations.

Amitie’s holiday program is designed to be fun and social and give parents and kids much needed activity over the holiday period whilst teaching valuable skills.

Students will learn basic hand sewing techniques, decorative embroidery stitches, touch on design concepts and how to use craft tools safely and responsibly.

Classes will run for 2.5 hours with all materials provided inclusive of a healthy snack.
