Kite at Kyosk for trail
Carol Kite is a Clifton Springs-based visual artist who works on paper, with printmaking and mixed media the main techniques used in her artwork.
“As an artist, the diversity of papers and media, the variety of textures, colours and shapes allows you a lot of room to explore your subject matter,” Carol said.
Abandonment is a recurring theme in Carol’s art and works well with her use of locally sourced objects, discarded photos and recycled materials.
Carol makes unique-state art books. These miniature worlds crafted from her collagraph prints evoke visuals of the changing seascapes and coast of the Bellarine Peninsula.
Carol has a number of prints and artists books available on exhibition at The Hub, Kyosk in Ocean Grove.
During the year, she holds art classes for adults and Saturday morning classes for children at her Clifton Springs studio.
Adult classes are not restricted to any medium and beginners are welcome.
Carol can help students with their own artwork as well as introduce them to new techniques.
Saturday morning children’s art classes encourage children to think laterally, develop creativity and problem solving skills, build their understanding of composition and improve their drawing and making skills in a relaxed environment.
