Looking after your kids all day long

Sian is a local mum of four with more than 20 years’ experience of working in early years education and childcare.

Last year, after welcoming her twins to her family, she opened up her own day care centre with a unique approach. All Day Long Childcare and Education is a proudly independent, family owned centre, who are passionate about having extensively trained, qualified and experienced educators throughout.

The centre has been thoughtfully designed to promote learning environments to enhance a child-guided approach, which allows children a holistic way to immerse themselves into their own learning journeys. It is through this approach that the passionate and carefully selected educators support children to develop a wide range of realistic and in-depth knowledge of their rights, life skills and connecting to their world.

All Day Long’s unique philosophy incorporates an open-ended approach to learning, where children have access to a range of natural, organic and loose parts approach to engage with. This style of education allows children to not only guide their own learning but also engage in a unique program which they would not have elsewhere.

By embedding realistic and practical sustainable principles, the centre thinks carefully about how they reduce their impact on the world. With this being in the fore mind of the educators, they use this opportunity to connect, acknowledge and thank the tradition owners of the land, and the importance of caring for it, while living and learning on Wadawurrung land.

All Day Long Childcare and Education do not just stop there – they ensure that all children from birth get the same opportunities of learning and connecting to the land, with children ranging in age from six weeks to six years taking parting in bush kinder experiences and with cooking classes with their qualified chef. If you think this could not get any better, they also offer a vacation care program for children to use after graduating to school.

This mum is passionate about offering outstanding education and care to the community, which she hopes to become part of as her centre builds on her community-based inspiration, such as the playgroup room and her family library for parents to borrow, swap and donate to.
