Mockett to bring music history to life
Revered Geelong historian Colin Mockett will be bringing a captivating musical show detailing the rise of “the fifth Beatle” to the Potato Shed this July.
Made in Montserrat, which will explore the fascinating history of George Martin, will premiere at the Potato Shed on July 16.
Martin was often described as the ‘fifth Beatle” and was renowned for his iconic Associated Independent Recording (AIR) Studio on the Caribbean Island of Montserrat.
Many of the world’s biggest musical names including Elton John, the Rolling Stones and Duran Duran found their way to his remote location to record their legendary albums.
The show will take audiences on a journey through time, detailing the rise of Martin’s career and his impact on the music industry to the devastation of Hurricane Hugo, which left the studio in ruins.
