Anticipation is rising for tonight’s (Friday, September 15) launch of the Geelong Nature Festival, where attendees will be treated to a captivating presentation from a special guest.

The City of Greater Geelong, Geelong Field Naturalists Club and their partners will open the environmental event series with a performance from Tasmanian presenter of ABC TV’s Gardening Australia, Hannah Moloney, at Geelong Library and Heritage Centre.

Ms Moloney’s presentation will explore the realms of horticulture and detail her reasoning behind believing gardens are not only a sanctuary for plants and wildlife, but for the human soul.

Touching on gardening’s practical aspects and emotional benefits, Ms Moloney’s presentation promises to ignite inspiration, connection and action towards embracing mother nature.

She said she was honoured to be sharing her wealth of experience, knowledge and passion with the Geelong community.

“For me, this has been a personal journey, which led me to the world of gardens and has now become my lifelong commitment to the environment.

“Together we will explore the profound connection between climate change, our sense of place, the healing power of nature and the bonds that unite communities.”

Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said he was excited about Ms Moloney’s performance.

“We’re thrilled to have Hannah grace the Geelong Nature Festival with her wisdom and insights.

“Her presentation promises to be an enlightening journey that highlights the incredible impact we can have by nurturing gardens and fostering a deep connection with nature.”

Registrations are still open and essential for tonight’s show.
