New owner strikes gold
The Public Bar at Gold Diggers Arms Hotel, located in Newtown, has been a favourite after-work meeting place for decades, known to offer favourite pub classics, alongside beautiful South American-influenced main meals.
The well-known establishment has undergone a change in recent weeks, with former Torquay Hotel manager Andrew Routley taking ownership.
“I’ll be keeping the same name and style locals have come to love,” Andrew said.
“I’m very excited to be back in Geelong after many years in Torquay getting to know the locals.
“I have previously owned an establishment in Geelong, so it’s great to be back.
“The Gold Diggers Arms Hotel is such an iconic location on the Geelong pub scene and I’m very proud to take ownership. It’s going to be an exciting time ahead.
“I want to encourage any regulars from the Torquay Hotel to visit, come and say hello, have a look around and enjoy a drink or two.”
Gold Diggers Arms offers a carefullydesigned drinks list to complement the food, including both local and international beer, wine and cocktails.
With an ever-growing selection of premiumspirits, the Saloon Bar is the perfect area to relax over a drink or meet with friends.
The restaurant is open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday and for dinner Tuesday to Sunday.
