Paddle to Tidal Tattoo

December 22, 2017 BY

Tidal Tattoo has joined forces with Cormach Evans, founder of The Paddle for Aboriginal Health and Strong Brother Strong Sister, to raise money and awareness for Aboriginal Health and wellbeing.

This Sunday (December 17) from 9am, Tidal Tattoo will be running a $50 tattoo deal from designs created by Cormach, Nathan Patterson, Zeb Walsh from The Paddle for Aboriginal Health, Tidal Tattoo owner Gerard Black and his partner Shelly Black.

Cormach said all the money raised would be donated to Paddle for Aboriginal Health, helping to lower Aboriginal teen pregnancy rates, youth suicide rates, incarceration rates and assist in closing the gap of Indigenous and non-Indigenous life expectancy.

“Gerard Black is a proud Aboriginal man and great friend to me and The Paddle for Aboriginal Health,” Cormach said.

“Gerard even joined us on one of our paddles to raise money and awareness for Aboriginal Health in dangerous conditions along the Surf Coast in Wadawurrung country.

“He suggested we run a tattoo day to raise more money and awareness for Aboriginal Health from is Tattoo shop in Torquay and I thought it was an exciting idea.”

Cormach is passionate about improving Aboriginal health and wellbeing, and raising much needed awareness in the wider community.

“Aboriginal people’s life expectancy is one of the lowest in the world and we as Aboriginal people will be likely to die up to 20 years younger than non-Aboriginal people,” Cormach said.

Cormach and the Tidal Tattoo team are encouraging everyone to visit the store and choose from a range of small-sized tattoo designs to help their cause.

Tidal Tattoo is located at 38-40 Bell Street, Torquay. To donate, head to strongbrotherstrongsister.org/paddle-for-aboriginal-health.
