Peking Duk a stranger no more
Australian music duo Peking Duk is now a household name after only three years on the music scene and will be performing across all Falls Festival locations from December to January.
Crowds can expect high-energy, special effects, spectacular pyrotechnics and special guests during Peking Duk’s live set.
Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles are the names behind the famous duo, known for leaving audiences sweat-soaked, champagne-sprayed and picking bits of confetti out of their hair for days.
“Our first festival experience was back in Lorne in 2013 during the Falls Festival season and we camped too, so it’ll be great to get back there,” Ruben said.
“We always love to bring special guests up on stage during our set, and we have to keep our cards close to our chest, though, on who they will be; but everyone loves a surprise, right?”
The boys are continuing their domination of Australian music with four Aria nominations: Best Dance Release with “Stranger” feat. Elliphant, Best Group, Best Live Act and Apple Music Song of The Year with “Stranger” feat. Elliphant.
“I think the most we’ve ever been nominated for in one year is two awards, so we were really surprised,” Ruben said.
“It can be very time-consuming and painful to translate some of our songs that we create on the computer to a live performance but the final result is always worth it.”
This year has also seen Peking Duk return in force with “Fake Magic”, a collaboration with vocalist Aluna Francis of UK duo AlunaGeorge, yet another platinum certified hit with over 15 million streams globally.
Falls Festival has a great line-up of artists, and beside the excitement of the crowd getting to see some of the best live sets across the country, the performers themselves also look forward to having time to see what the others perform.
“We heard Liam Gallagher is on just before us, so we’re pretty keen to see him on stage but it’s also daunting that we have to follow his set,” Ruben said.
