A positive time for Portarlington businesses
Portarlington Business Development Association president John Rae says the lack of vacant stores in his town is a terrific vote of confidence for the area.
Mr Rae said Portarlington was enjoying a very positive summer trading period, and had welcomed new restaurants Pier Front Pizzeria, Rockwall @ The Pier, Bouchon at Bellarine and Portarlington By The Bay.
“They add to the already excellent eating choices in Portarlington,” Mr Rae said.
“And we also welcome homewares store Mishka + Mikki, which recently opened.”
Mr Rae said there were now no vacant stores in Portarlington, which was a terrific vote of confidence in the area.
“The opening of the Safe Harbour, plus the ferry bringing Probus and other similar community groups has added to the growth,” he said.
“The Mussel Festival continues to grow and this year there were about 27,000 people attending, and the new apartments in Newcombe Street will commence in February.”
Mr Rae said this was a positive time for Portarlington businesses and he believed this growth would continue.
“Thanks to all the businesses for investing in our town and for creating employment,” he said.
