Rock musician Richard Clapton is hitting the road and heading for the Bellarine for a headliner performance later this month.

Clapton released his first album in 1973 in Germany, he then went on to release his hit Girls on the Avenue in 1975, exploding onto the music scene.

More than 50 years on and it is still one of his most well-known songs, along with Deep Water, Capricorn Dancer and The Best Years of Our Lives.

His work and experience spans decades, from releasing albums, mentoring others, producing albums for fellow musicians and touring.

Throughout his career, Clapton has received many accolades, including being inducted to the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1999.

In 2021, the musician took his music in a different direction and for the first time released a cover album, Music is Love (1966-1970).

The album encompassed songs originally released by the likes of Crosby, Stills Nash & Young, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, and more.

Showing no signs of slowing down, he continues to take to stages and entertain crowds with performances already locked in for 2026.

For his gig at Bellarine Estate on December 28, Clapton will be joined by Mike Rudd, the Hornets and Taylor Sheridan as they celebrate summer music.
