Run, walk or waddle on wine trail
If you’re worried about extra calories in wine, Grapest is the event for you, where you work up a sweat over a variety of distances and enjoy some well-earned wines.
On October 6 for the first time in the Geelong region, the Grapest 5K Run will arrive to Leura Park Estate where crowds will run, walk, and skip their way through the vines.
With a 4pm start, participants can choose to navigate around the stunning winery course over a 5km or 10km run; for those who’d prefer not to run the onekilometre Wine Waddle has you covered, along the way, all ‘Grapesters’ will get to taste eight wines and ciders at various stations.
The finale of the day will see food, wine and live music on offer to bring the gang together to relax and enjoy at the afterparty.
Leura Park Estate Director Lyndsay Sharp said she was delighted the renowned Grapest event was coming to the Bellarine.
“It’s a fabulous event combining a little bit of fitness and lots of fun for a diverse age range – running, wining, dining, music, food and friends old and new. All at Leura Park Estate are excited about hosting Grapest in October and look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy our vineyard, wines and hospitality.”
Early Bird tickets start from $40 for the Wine Waddle or $62 for the 5km or 10km run, the ticket price includes a custom wine glass attached to a lanyard, a branded headband, and the unique ‘Sip Happens’ bottle stopper finisher’s medal.
