School Holiday fun every day for the whole family at Lorne Theatre

March 27, 2024 BY

Catch all the family favourite movies at the Lorne Theatre these school holidays.

Lorne Theatre is offering up a basketful of cinematic surprises for the whole family every day of the Easter school holidays, from Friday March 29 (Good Friday) through to Sunday April 14, with the opportunity to win free movies at the theatre for a year for those that book online.
The program has been curated to consider families with children of all ages, with movies for young* adventure seekers, nature lovers, rule breakers, risk takers, magic makers and day dreamers.
*young is a state of mind.
To kick things off, Good Friday will present new releases Migration and Kung Fu Panda 4, as well as a Ghostbusters double-
header, with the latest Ghostbusters movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, preceding the classic 1984 original, Ghostbusters.
Easter Saturday will feature a Mary Poppins singalong session to celebrate the film’s 60th Anniversary. Inviting a new generation to enjoy this film that is practically perfect in every way, kids can follow along to the song lyrics on the screen. The front of the theatre will see the film come to life on the pavement, with special chalk drawings from the film to be recreated.
The rest of the family-focused program features a mix of new releases (think Dune: Part Two; Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire; Kung Fu Panda 4; and the delightful Robot Dreams) alongside some nostalgic classic family films (such as The Goonies; The Princess Bride; The Wizard of Oz and Jurassic Park) – giving parents a chance to relive their childhood favourite films on the big screen and share the films that shaped them with their own kids.
More recent classics include Frozen and Wish (both as sing-along special screenings); the summer favourite Wonka and Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr Fox.
Select sessions will also include interactive surprises, Easter giveaways and additional snack packs for young film fans.
Don’t forget to stop by the Theatre’s newly-refurbished Candy Bar, a Wes Anderson-inspired fever dream, where you’ll find all the usual suspects mingling with nostalgic sweets and specialty snacks.
Next door to Lorne Theatre, seaside tavern The Clam will be the go-to destination for a pre or post film feed. Bookings can be made at theclam.au/bookings, with The Clam open for lunch and dinner the whole two weeks of the school holidays, including every day of the Easter long weekend.
Pre-booked tickets purchased online will also put cinema-goers from any session between the 29 March to the 14 April in the draw to win free movies from Lorne Theatre for a year.
Head to lornetheatre.com.au for the full program and to book tickets and for giveaway Ts and Cs.
