BUSINESS EXCELLENCE – See the difference Deck Doc can make
Deck Doc
Deck Doc specialises in the development and manufacture of the finest blends of timber preserving oils and waxes to seal and protect the beauty of timber for long term protection in Australian conditions.
The company is owned by Robert and Rhinda Hylands. Robert developed a unique lanolin based formula and has been producing in Geelong for the past 15 years.
Robert and Rhinda previously owned a factory producing hand-carved, hand-painted wooden birds including wooden decoy ducks used by duck hunters, and developed a product that would absorb into the timber, stay soft and pliable and move with the timber to give total preservation and protection.
The breakthrough came when Rhonda realised the potential of lanolin, which waterproofs, insulates and protects sheep from the cold, wind, rain and harmful UV rays.
Included in our unique formula is an anti-fungal additive. This additive is extensively used in agriculture to prevent root rot in crops. It is an ideal pest repellent (termites) as well as being a fire retardant.
Deck Doc is passionate about giving timber care knowledge and assistance to the consumer. Homeowners spend a lot of money into having great looking decks, using top quality timber. Therefore it is important to understand both the characteristics of timber types as well as what is going to happen to the timber in the years to come and how to preserve and protect the timber to withstand warping, cracking and maintaining the beautiful natural colour.
The Deck Doc Difference is now available to view on the Deck Doc website. This information will help the consumer understand the technical differences between Deck Doc’s natural timber oils and all other conventional types of water based and urethane based coatings. It is important to understand the on-going maintenance and how they affect the timber in the long term.
We welcome home owners and tradespeople alike to visit our factory showroom for free demonstrations and advice on maintaining new decks and restoring weathered decks.
