Sell out silent auction for Murray to Moyne
SOLD OUT items signalled another successful event for this year’s Murray to Moyne (M2M) major fundraising dinner.
Close to 100 people turned up to the March 15 silent auction held at Lorne Hotel, The View for a night of great food, entertainment and prizes.
Karyn Hogg from the Lorne Community Hospital said it was a fantastic effort by everyone involved with M2M – a fundraiser that sees local riders tackle 520 kilometres over 24 hours, to raise valuable funds for the hospital and their programs.
“We have had much positive feedback, it was a fun, relaxed friendly space to spend a few hours together and a great night,” Ms Hogg said.
“It was nice to celebrate the ride, riders, the theme of the night and team member Harri Muller for his tenth ride.”
Ms Hogg thanked Neil Hillard who stepped in at the last minute to be the evening’s guest auctioneer and said he did a fantastic job.
“I’d also like to thank Harri and Ed Babington (team members) for walking the streets and gathering so many of the great auction items.
“Our chief executive officer Kate Gillan spoke beautifully as always and I’d also like to thank Emily Lens, Katy Kennedy and Corinna Dichiera for all their hours input and help,” she said.
“We raised over $7,000 from the dinner for the hospital which is a truly great result.”
Ms Hogg said they were now looking forward to the event on April 7-8 with riders from the Foodworks Lorne Spinners set to receive their new jerseys and the support crew and bus drivers locked in.
