Seniors at Star of the Sea enjoy holidays all year long

December 22, 2017 BY

There’s a reason why it’s difficult to find a park around Torquay over the Christmas period.

The seaside town is a beacon for sun seekers of all ages, drawn to the diverse mix of shops, cafes, attractions and stunning beachside locations.

When the end of summer draws near and visitors pack their bags to return home, seniors who’ve chosen to call Star of the Sea Retirement Village home, continue their relaxing holiday feeling all year round.

Residents say they adore living in a smaller, personalised village, with many referring to it as a boutique ‘community within a community’.

Continuing the holiday feel, the luxurious two- and three-bedroom villa units at Star of the Sea come fully-appointed with designer finishes.

The spacious units feature gourmet kitchens with European appliances, top quality Caesar-stone bench tops, two designer bathrooms with walkin showers, gas fireplaces, private courtyards and lock-up garages.

Lois moved to Star of the Sea in 2010 and hasn’t looked back since. She keeps busy with a craft group on Monday, cards on Wednesday and indoor bowls on Thursdays. She also enjoys regular visits from her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A unique opportunity has arisen to join Lois and others who’ve decided to call Star of the Sea home, with a limited number of homes now available for sale. Open for inspections are scheduled for December and January.

Retirement Village coordinator Robyn Leahy said interested parties should “get in quick”.

“We encourage people to give us a call and take a tour as homes are snapped up really quickly, particularly around the holiday season when people realise what a stunning location we are in,” she said.

“There is plenty of demand, especially now we have completed the adjacent 96-bed aged care residence.

“As we get older, it’s so important to consider our futures. There is a sense of security and peace of mind knowing a higher level of care is available just next door.”

Star of the Sea Village is located at 1 Headland Drive, Torquay and is open for inspection Monday to Friday (weekends by appointment). For further information please phone Robyn on 5264 3500 or head to vmch.com.au.

Star of the Sea Village is operated by Villa Maria Catholic Homes, one of Victoria’s largest not-for-profit providers of accommodation, senior, disability and specialist education services.
