Get ready to shake your groove thing as Australia’s most successful homegrown musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert rocks in to Geelong for the first time.

The hit musical presented by CentreStage has more glitter than ever, featuring a dazzling array of more than 500 costumes, 200 head-dresses and a non-stop parade of dancefloor classics including “It’s Raining Men”, “I Will Survive”,”I Love The Nightlife”, “Finally”, and many more.

Based on the Oscar-winning film, Priscilla is the hilarious adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus bound for Alice Springs to put on the show of a lifetime.

Their epic journey is a heart-warming story of self-discovery, sassiness and acceptance.

With more glitz and glamour than ever before, this show-stopping musical features spectacular dance routines, a dazzling array of eye-popping costumes, and a scintillating, singalong soundtrack full of your favourite songs.

Directed by Dean Robinson, the cast includes Jules Hart as Tick, Lochlan Erard as Adam, Mark Monroe as Bernadette, Rimon Abohaidar as Bob, Baxter Hyatt, Daniel Lim and Eddie Finnigan sharing the role of Benji and Tessa Reed, Dana Singer, Kristen Wigg as the three divas, plus a large ensemble.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert opens at The Play House in the Geelong Arts Centre today (Friday, September 8) at 7.30pm, and will have 12 performances over the next two weeks, with the last on September 23.

The show is two hours and 30 minutes long, with a 20-minute interval, and is recommended for audiences aged 12 and older, who are advised that Priscilla contains dramatised depictions of violence and homophobic and transphobic slurs.
