Sit down for a dozen short plays

Local writers and performers from across the Bellarine will present a dozen short plays at The Potato Shed next weekend.

Produced by Theatre 3triple2, long-running annual event 12 x 12 Short Plays features, as the name suggests, 12 plays that are 12 minutes or less in length.

All plays are written and performed by local creatives, with the production a showcase of local talent.

This is the 12th year 12 x 12 Short Plays will be presented, and Theatre 3triple2 say it will be “a big one”.

The 2024 edition will feature comedy, drama, music and science fiction, with something for every audience member.

Some explore the darker side of life, while others will have you laughing in the aisles.

Both the audience and judges vote to award a playwright for the most well-constructed work.

Theatre 3Triple2 is a community theatre company based at the Potato Shed.

Established in 2004 and formerly known as Encore 4 Kids, the company was formed by a collection of skilled locals with the common interest of providing quality seasonal entertainment across various theatrical genres for a range of audience types.

Theatre 3triple2 continues to invite local experienced and emerging artists, technicians and production crew to contribute to the company and further enrich the arts culture within the region.

12 x 12 Short Plays will be performed at The Potato Shed, Drysdale on December 12 at 7pm and December 14 at 2pm.
