THE SOUND DOCTOR Prescribes a Good Night Out

November 9, 2017 BY

The final Sound Doctor gig for the year puts folk music centre stage as they present An Evening with Leah Senior supported by Forever Son on November 11 at Anglesea Memorial Hall.

After introducing many locals to the lyrical sounds of Ireland’s Lisa Hannigan in May and entertaining fans with an incredible show from Clare Bowditch and Yirrmal in September, it’s time to share the talents of two local stars before they get really famous.

Originally from Warrnambool, Leah Senior’s spellbinding voice and exquisite folk sounds will melt hearts. Forever Son (Jack Robbins) is an old Anglesea boy bringing his optimistic and heart-warming Americana style and enthralling energy back to his home town in a special solo performance.

Connections are strong between Leah and Jack. As well as their west coast roots, both artists released stunning albums in 2017 that have had the critics sitting up and taking notice.

As many local music lovers will know, Jack Robbins honed his considerable guitar playing ability in his youth performing in bands with King Gizzard’s frontman Stu Mackenzie.

Tickets are on sale now for what promises to a very special night of folk music from two artists that audiences are going to love bragging that they saw just before they took the world by storm.

Previous Sound Doctor gigs have sold out well in advance of the show and with tickets only $30 it’s sure to happen again. Prepare for the silly season with a good dose of folk.

The show starts at 7.30pm at Anglesea Memorial Hall, 1 McMillan Street, Anglesea. To book, head to, trybooking.com/SGVX or for more information, head to thesounddoctor.info.
