Strong health for growing community
Armstrong Health
As Armstrong Creek continues to grow, so do the facilities required to service the community.
Locally respected general practitioners Dr Faisal Murad and Dr Saba Qutub saw a lack of medical facilities in the region and took it upon themselves to open a medical centre.
“We wanted to provide young families moving into the area a place to visit should they feel unwell or help them feel safer knowing we’re there in close proximity,” Dr Faisal said.
“Our hope is to have a medical facility that will provide traditional general practice services to the whole family, as well as a wide variety of other services including anti-wrinkle injections, medical aesthetics, integrative medicine, nutritional medicine and medical acupuncture.”
Both graduating in Medicine from India, they worked in Geelong Hospital from 2007 as resident doctors.
Collectively, Dr Faisal Murad and Dr Saba Qutub have worked in the field of medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedic surgery and emergency medicine at Geelong Hospital.
In 2010, they both decided a change of pace was in order and took on the roles as general practitioners.
“We love how we can get to know the people within our community being GPs and helping to make their days a little bit better if they’re unwell.
“I worked within the Drysdale medical clinic, while Dr Saba Qutub worked in Highton medical clinic.
“We have a vision to expand into a much larger clinic eventually, operating seven days a week with long opening hours. We also want to provide another space to provide other services such as radiology, pathology, dentistry and allied health.”
