Surf on screen proves popular once again
The 2018 Bells Beach Surf Film Festival is over for another year and brought the best surf films in the world to Torquay for screening at the world famous Australian National Surfing Museum for the eighth year in a row.
The festival ran from January 3-6, featuring amazing surf films from France, USA, New Zealand and Portugal.
The festival featured 11 surf films over four nights in Torquay, including three sell-out nights, live music, guest filmmakers and more than 300 people attending and enjoying surf films together.
Festival director John Foss thought the festival went really well this year and that sell-out crowds helped create a great vibe.
“One of the highlights of closing night on was a special screening of the award-winning short film Maurice Cole: The First Wave,” John said.
“The screening was followed by a Q&A session with film maker Peter Baker which was very popular.”
