Travelers exploring the Surf Coast region this summer can add a new destination to their schedule, with the Aireys Inlet Market scheduled every weekend until the end of January.
Local producers, artists and creators of handmade products will be showcasing their goods to the public at the usual Sunday morning markets as well as its first twilight market on Saturday January 19 from 4pm until 8pm.
Event organisers are gearing up to offer visitors and locals a weekly event, with over 60 stalls setting up shop to provide a specially sorted selection of the best of the region’s arts, crafts, local produce, live music and homemade food.
Musician Tim Hulsman will take the stage on Sunday January 6 and Saturday January 19, giving the crowd a taste of his unique talent on the slide guitar with expressive and compelling music.
Market organiser Libby Stapleton said this year’s market will be even bigger than last year’s, providing a platform for more local artisans in the area to celebrate and sell their unique products.
“The increase in stall numbers from 50 to 65 has provided an opportunity for many new stalls to join the Aireys Inlet Market, creating a truly diverse offering,” she said.
“Along with many of our regular favourites over summer, there’ll be around 15 new local stallholders offering everything from French pastries, vegan donuts, homemade gelato and organic produce, to creative artworks, sculptures, handmade and upcycled clothing, beeswax wraps and unique textiles.”
The market will operate on Sundays from 9am to 1pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall on January 6, 13 and 27. The new Twilight Market will be hosted on Saturday January 19.
