The Beach Willow opens its doors
THE Beach Willow, a haven for plants, pots and homewares has recently opened at the Surf Coast Highway beach boxes.
Co-owners Stephen Tippett and Carolyn Truscott opened their space to the public on January 11.
“We just had a love for the space and knew it had once operated as a successful nursery and thought we’d kick off a new challenge in life,” Mr Tippett said.
“The highlight for us is taking it from a rundown space and turning it into what we hope will be a gardeners and home lovers oasis.”
Mr Tippett described their business as a “nursery with a bit of a difference”, stocking a variety of different high-quality, plants, lifestyle, and homewares products.
“Our aim is to provide a great spot for the community to come and enjoy the quality selection of homewares, gifts, pots and plants. We love the modern coastal aesthetic and have incorporated that into our selections,” he said.
The pair have recently relocated from Ballarat to Torquay, where they have been welcomed by the local community, embracing the positive feedback from members of the public.
“We hope to continue to evolve and expand our range as we go, and welcome feedback from the community on what they would like to see,” Ms Truscott said.
“We believe in trying to find the balance between maturing trees for those looking for an instant effect and also providing a great selection of various varieties of young plants for those who love to watch them grow.”
The Beach Willow also offers free delivery to the Geelong and Surf Coast region for those that don’t have a suitable vehicle for their selections.
The café next door is also set to reopen in late February after undergoing full renovations.
“We hope those that love coffee and delicious food can take in the relaxed atmosphere of the adjoining businesses,” Ms Truscott said.
The Beach Willow is at 3/1135 Surf Coast Highway, Torquay.
