The Presets, Boy & Bear and Ball Park Music to drop into Torquay

December 5, 2019 BY

Boy & Bear are part of the lineup for the 2020 edition of The Drop Festival.

Torquay will play host to the likes of The Presets, Boy & Bear, Ball Park Music, Allday, DZ Deathrays, Kita Alexander and Graace in April for The Drop Festival’s third stint in the 3228.

Travelling alongside the World Surf League Australian tour, The Drop 2020 will take its star-studded festival bill to Noosa, Newcastle, Manly, Coolangatta, Torquay and Bussleton across a string of dates in February, March and April.

The Presets first impressed on the Aussie airwaves in 2007 with their hit single ‘My People’. The following year, the electronic duo from Sydney set the standard for a new era in dance music with the release of their chart-topping LP Apocalypso, taking out five ARIAs as well as the coveted triple J accolade for Album of the Year.

Last June The Presets put out their fourth studio album HI VIZ which debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart, while songs “Do What You Want”, “14U+14ME” and “Downtown Shutdown” electrified the triple j rotation.

They recently released a collaborative EP with Golden Features, RAKA, featuring lead single “Paradise”, which shot to the most played song on triple j within weeks of its release.

Multi-award-winning indie rock outfit Boy & Bear cemented their place on the Aussie music map with hit singles “Southern Sun”, “Walk the Wire” and “Feeding Line” but were forced to take a difficult hiatus from the road after a successful few years on the tour bus.

Four years later, the boys are back with an acclaimed new album Suck On Light. They will journey through Europe next year before heading home to play for fans at The Drop.

Brisbane’s Ball Park Music – who recently played at Little Creatures’ inaugural Born In Geelong Festival – have headlined sold-out tours, boasted nine appearances in triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown, and released five studio albums.

The five-piece outfit are locked in to deliver some of their biggest hits including “She Only Loves Me When I’m There”, ‘It’s Nice To Be Alive’ and “Exactly How You Are” across their appearances at The Drop.
