Torquay fans set to walk Illy’s “Tightrope” this October
MULTI-PLATINUM, ARIA Award-winning artist Illy will bring his explosive live show to Torquay this October as part of his Good-er Life Tour.
The Surf Coast stop follows the success of Illy’s capital city tour earlier this year and the release of Good Life (Deluxe Edition), an expanded version of his third ARIA #1 album, released in November last year.
“I loved every second of it, whether it was playing the new album, the big bangers, or meeting people after. I even loved the hungover flights the next morning (maybe not as much),” Illy said of his capital city tour.
“Now that we’ve got a taste for it, I am ready and counting down the days ‘til the Good-er Life Tour starts.
“We’re the most locked in we’ve been in years on stage, and when we’re in this mode, no one does it better. Get involved, see you there. Can’t wait.”
Fans can expect a high-energy set featuring a mix of Illy’s chart-topping anthems — think Tightrope, Exit Sign and Papercuts — and fresh material, including the four new tracks included on Good Life (Deluxe Edition): acoustic versions of Kids and Good Life, standalone 2023 single Hopeless and new track Free Hand.
Illy, the moniker of Australian rapper Alasdair Murray, emerged onto the hip hop scene in 2009, quickly building a reputation for his ability to seamlessly blend pop and hip hop.
Illy’s 2016 project Two Degrees, featuring multi-platinum collaborations with Vera Blue (Papercuts) and Anne-Marie (Catch 22), delivered his first ARIA #1 album, success he repeated in 2021 with The Space Between.
With an ARIA Award for Best Live Act also under his belt and festival slots at Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and Spilt Milk, Illy’s Torquay performance is set to be a major highlight for local music fans.
Illy will play the Torquay Hotel on October 17.
