Twilight event returns to Surfside next month
A CARNIVAL atmosphere will take over Surfside Primary School when its popular Fresh Food Fair rolls around again next month.
The twilight community event on November 3 is a celebratory evening of food, music, market stalls, rides and much more.
Surfside Primary School principal Mark Huglin said the success of last year’s twilight event made it an easy decision to make it a permanent change.
“We had more people attend and raised more money than ever before.
“It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves as the sun went down.”
The Surfside Primary School grounds will be completely transformed on the night of the Fresh Food Fair, with students’ artwork, market stalls and live music by The Surfside School Band, The Rouse Band, Rohan Lindsay and Gabrielle Costa.
Favourites such as carnival rides, sideshow games, a Silent Auction and a classic bake sale will also be there.
The Fresh Food Fair is the school’s major fundraising event for the year, with proceeds supporting their Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.
The school’s purpose built commercial kitchen and award winning garden give Surfside students the opportunity to gain hands on cooking experience.
“We welcome the whole community to our event,” Mr Huglin said.
“I’m sure everyone will enjoy eating some delicious food, wandering around our garden, listening to music and soaking up the atmosphere. It’s going to be our biggest and best fair yet.”
