Upskill your game with Coerver Coaching these school holidays
Former Socceroo and Jan Juc local Adrian Leijer this year launched Coerver Coaching in the Geelong region, a globally recognised football program inspired by Dutch maestro Wiel Coerver.
An Olympian and Socceroo, Leijer is also a former championship winner and captain of Melbourne Victory Football Club.
His career took him from the A-League to the English Premier League, Chinese Super League and Korea’s K-League.
“I’m driven to provide kids in Geelong access to a high-quality soccer program,” he said.
“Through coaching my daughters, I realised I’m now in a position where I should be sharing my experience and knowledge of the game.
“I grew up in Jan Juc and I was fortunate that football took me around the world.
“I understand the challenges aspiring athletes in regional areas face and my goal is to provide a foundation for children of all levels to develop a love for our great game.”
Coerver Coaching forms the foundation of top academies around the world including Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, while heavily influencing some of the best national federations, such as World Cup finalists France and Asian powerhouse Japan.
“Coerver is highly regarded globally and we saw at the World Cup, the influence this style of coaching has had on federations like Japan and the French, where Coerver is very strong,” Leijer said.
Coerver Coaching will be running holiday programs at Shell Road Reserve, Ocean Grove on January 16, 17 and 18 from 10am-1.30pm each day.
